Overview:

Meeting the needs of prosthetic limb patients, Plasti Dip created a flexible coating that would provide comfort and protection to the wearer, while being a safe, durable product. Challenge:

A new flexible elastomeric coating was needed that would protect the very costly foam cover while providing a more “life like skin” surface. The coating had to be soft yet durable, elastic, puncture resistant, UV and chemical resistant and still be light weight.

Solution:

By working closely with an industry leader, new state of the art flexible elastomeric coating system/ process were developed specifically for the foams, composites, process being used and end use of the product. Not only did the new flexible elastomeric coatings provide a more “life like skin” surface but adds considerable durability and protection to this very critical element of a prosthetic limb.
