Overview:

To meet new environmental regulations, Plasti Dip developed a water base in mold and post mold coating. This state of the art flexible elastomeric has low VOCs and is now being used in a variety of non-medical applications. Read more about this specially designed flexible foam coating.

Challenge:

A new flexible elastomeric IMC / PMC coating system was needed to reduce VOCs and to be non-flammable for production use. The new products and processes would also need to perform like existing solvent base and two-part coating systems being used.

Solution:

By working closely with an industry leader in the flexible urethanes molding business, new state of the art flexible elastomeric IMC / PMC coatings were developed specifically for the foams and molding process being used. Not only did the new flexible elastomeric coatings meet the existing projects needs but exceeded performance expectations and is now being used for other medial, automotive and novelty applications
