Shooting Pool & Washing Dishes

If you’re like me, you’re terrible at pool. My personal best is three consecutive made shots.

Or, if you’re like me, you’re a champion* at loading the dishwasher. I don’t have an exact count on the most dishes I’ve successfully stuffed in the dishwasher for one load, but I can assure that the number is ridiculously high.

What do these two seemingly random factoids have in common? Either way, sooner or later, I’m going to have to ReRACK.

I enjoy playing pool, and have probably played quite a bit more than most people. I just never became very good at it. Despite having my own pool cue (it was a gift), my lifetime winning percentage is probably somewhere in the low teens. Traditionally, the loser in a game of pool has to rerack the balls for the next game, using the familiar triangle-shaped rack. I have reracked many, many pool balls.

But, I am just as good at loading my dishwasher as I am bad at shooting pool. This is not a very impressive talent, I’ll admit, but I always aim for maximum efficiency, so I try to fill every square inch of dishwasher space before I run a cycle.

This is good for my water bill, but it can be bad for my dishwasher. I’ve found that the odd arrangements in which my dirty plates, cups, etc., go into the dishwasher can put undue stress on the wire racks that hold them in place. This, in turn, leads to cracks and chips in the racks’ vinyl coating, and even some totally stripped sections. The exposed wire lead to flecks of rust, scratches, and chips on my dishes.

While there may be no cure for my atrocious pool skills, there is a solution for my damaged dishwasher racks. The geniuses at Plasti Dip have created ReRACK, a wonderful concoction that  makes it simple to recoat the damaged, chipped, stripped wire racks in your dishwasher. It brushes on quickly and easily with the brush conveniently built in to the cap of the 1 oz. container, and after it dries, ReRACK gives dishes the same safe, soft protection the original vinyl coating did.

Use ReRACK in your dishwasher to fill in the cracks and gouges that may have developed in the racks’ vinyl coating after years of normal use (or after a much shorter span of stuffed-to-the-gills loads). ReRACK is specially formulated to withstand the hot, pressurized water in your dishwasher. It won’t peel off or melt away, even in the high temperatures of the “heated dry” cycle. ReRACK will work wonders on any vinyl-coated wire rack you may have around the house—shoe racks, shower caddies, wire shelving in the garage, etc.
